This smoothie is the ultimate athlete’s choice. Paw paw boosts an abundance of vitamins and minerals including calcium, iron, vitamins A, C, E and B vitamins (in particular folate, riboflavin, thiamine and niacin). It has anti-inflammatory properties and contains digestive enzymes papain and chymopapain which help to break down proteins and convert them into amino acids for extra power.
1 cup nut or seed milk (hemp, coconut, soy or almond work best)
1 small ripe paw paw, skin removed cut into chunks
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 tsp raw grated ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
1-2 tbsp pumpkin kernels
1 tbsp flaxseed oil
Handful of ice cubes (optional)
- Blend all ingredients in a blender on high speed for 2-3 minutes, or until think and creamy.
