Also known as Turmeric Latte, this anti-inflammatory dream-come-true is helpful in alleviating symptoms of stress and anxiety by decreasing inflammation to the brain and reducing cortisol levels in the blood.
1 inch knob of fresh turmeric root, peeled (or 1 tsp turmeric powder)
½ inch knob of fresh ginger root, peeled (or ½ tsp ginger powder)
1 cinnamon quill (or ½ tsp cinnamon powder)
1 vanilla bean (or 1 tsp vanilla bean powder)
2 cups coconut milk
1 cup filtered water
Raw honey to taste
- Place all ingredients except honey in a small saucepan and bring to the boil over high heat. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 3-5 minutes. Bubbles will form on the sides of the pan, be sure to continue stirring so mixture doesn’t stick.
- Turn off heat, cover with lid and let steep for a further 5 minutes. If using fresh ingredients, strain through a sieve ad serve. Add honey to taste.
