Avocados are one of my favourite fatty food sources, being particularly high in anti-inflammatory omega-3. Also high in tryptophan, amino acid precursor for serotonin our happy hormone.
½ small avocado
1 small cucumber, chopped
½ banana, chopped and frozen
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 lemon, juiced
Handful of kale, roughly torn
¼ cup macadamia nuts, chopped
1 tbsp green powder
1 tbsp protein powder
Pinch Himalayan salt
Cinnamon or cayenne pepper to taste
250ml coconut water
Optional to serve: nuts, shredded coconut, chia or hemp seeds, cacao nibs, berries etc.
- Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth and all fibrous greens have broken down.
- Transfer to bowl and place in freezer for 10-15min.
- Remove from freezer and decorate with toppings of you choice.
